Koori Club

Koori Club

At Frankston East Primary School, we are proud to offer Koori Club, a safe and welcoming space for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to come together and strengthen their connection to culture, land and community. Each session, our students are joined by community leaders from Nairm Marr Djambana, who guide a range of engaging cultural activities that foster learning, creativity and pride in identity.

Koori Club provides our students with the opportunity to share stories, explore traditions and deepen their understanding of their heritage in a supportive environment. It helps build a strong sense of belonging, confidence and cultural pride, while also encouraging leadership and connection with peers.

Our students also have the wonderful opportunity to visit Nairm Marr Djambana, where they experience culture firsthand on Country. These visits allow them to take part in traditional activities, connect with Elders and learn more about the local land and its stories. Each visit strengthens their sense of identity and community, creating lasting memories and deep connections.

We are incredibly fortunate to partner with Nairm Marr Djambana and to provide our students with meaningful experiences. Koori Club not only celebrates and strengthens Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture but also enriches our whole school community through shared learning, respect and connection.
